ZARA-HANDBAG-WISHLIST-BLOG-POST

Zara Handbags, need I say more? I have the typical blogger messenger bag and I love it so much. To be honest, the majority of their handbags aren't that expensive and the ones that are, well, they are usually the most beautiful handbags that you would be happy to invest in them.

My favourite has to be the studded shopper. I went crazy when this bag first came out, but restrained and ended up buying a very good ebay copy. However, after seeing the studded one, the purple one and the red on in store I am contemplating playing the lottery so i'd be able to buy all of them!

Covering Dark Circles...

Monday, 29 October 2012

Bio Oil // Bobbi Brown Corrector*and Concealer Kit* // WitchSkinCare Concealer * // Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Kohl Liner

Dark circles are pretty much the bane of my vain life! I have them whether I sleep well or not, I guess I can thank my gene pool for that. I know there are worse things that could be wrong, but coupled with that my cheeks are almost permanently red my face looks horrendous. The red makes the grey under my eyes look darker and if my concealer application is just slightly wrong I get asked if I have had enough sleep all day.

The skin around my eyes tends to get quite dry quite often and I don't like to use the cream from the Drs too often as it can thin the skin. To combat this I tend to use a layer of Bio Oil every two days or so to keep the hydration level up. I have tried eye creams but one left me with millia so I stopped using it. If anyone does have any eye cream suggestions then please let me know.

The on to concealing up the bad boys themselves. I always conceal after applying my foundation because a thin layer of foundation adds an extra layer of coverage. First weapon of choice is my Bobbi Brown Corrector* in the colour Bisque. It has a pinkish tone to it which counteracts the grey/blue tones in my dark circles. I usually apply this with my ring finger because it's quicker, easier and less hassle than having to clean a brush. Aside from my laziness, the heat from your finger also helps the product to blend.

Next up is the Correctors big sister the Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit in Sand, again with my fingers I apply this all over where the corrector was applied. Sometimes this can crease so I have to make a mental note to keep a check on it during the day. The majority of the time it's fine though.

Are you finished yet?! I hear you cry. Well the answer is no. I apply some of the Witch Skin Care Conealer in Light* to the very inner corner of my eyes to lighten up the most darkest area of my eyes. Set it all with the powder in the Bobbi Brown Concealer Kit* and I am good to go.... almost.

A slick of the Rimmel Kohl Pencil in nude on my water line to get rid of the redness that lays on there and then I am good to go!
So there is the lengths I go to just to look awake on a day to day basis!

Do you have any specific routines?

Wednesday Wishlist... O.P.I The Man With A Golden Gun

Wednesday, 24 October 2012

I never thought I would ever consider paying this much for a nail polish. Not in a million years. Well thank you blogging because that has just changed everything.
To celebrate James Bond's 50th Anniversary O.P.I have created this golden top coat. It's a clear polish with irregularly shaped 18ct gold pieces (real!!) to create the gold leaf look.
Now I am all one for nail art, but £30.. can I be tempted? Would I just grow tired of the look? And more importantly would a Barry M crackle paint curb my craving.. or will only the real thing do?

Would you or have you already forked out for this?

Autumn Makeup....

Revlon Lip Butter in Candy Apple & Lollipop // Rimmel Kate Lipstick in 107 // No7 Stay Perfect Eye Mousse // No7 eyeshadow // MAC MSF in Stereo Rose

As we are well and truly into one of my favourite seasons I thought I would do a post to show you guys the changes in the colour of my makeup that usually occurs around this time of year.
Naturally I think every body gravitates towards the berry coloured lips and I am no different. My most recent lip colour purchase was the Rimmel Kate Lipstick in 107 which is a beautiful berry tone, but isn't too dark that I feel too vampy wearing it. I've also been leaning towards my two darker Revlon Lip Butters in Lollipop and Candy Apple. These are both really moitsursing which is nice as the weather is getting colder. I like my lips to feel hydrated especially in the colder weather so matte lipsticks are pretty much out of the question.
My eye makeup tends to bring in more olive colours and these two items from No7 are perfect. I bought them last year when I realised that I had nothing in any palette that came close to these colours and I have to say they are one of my most worn single eyeshadows. I wear them alone, or smudged in with some bronze colours, bronze eyeshadows tend to be a staple for me all year around.
For cheeks, well, this is the first year I have felt comfortable enough in my own skin to wear blusher really. It's been well documented on my blog and youtube how much my red cheeks affected my desire to wear colour on them and that has slowly change. Maybe this is the year that I invest in a really nice Autumn blusher? But in the mean time my MAC MSF in Stereo Rose is the one. It has a nice shimmer to it and really warms up my face.

Who knows, maybe I will do an Autumn FOTD soon?

What changes happens in your makeup at this time of the year?

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliners...

Monday, 15 October 2012

Rimmel Scandaleyes Waterproof Eyeliners - Around £3 at time of writing.
I cannot find a link to them directly. But you can get them in Boots, Superdrug, Wilkinsons etc

When I heard that Rimmel were bringing out their own "skin coloured" eyeliner I was oober excited. Failing to get my hands on the MAC version (before they tested on animals) pretty much annoyed the hell out of me until I then got my hands on the UNE version. However being a squared pencil it is an absolute nightmare to sharpen so it does get left out a lot.
I knew that I was going to pick up the nude one anyway but the taupe shade really caught my eye as well. These pencils have pretty much taken over my eye routine of late using the nude eyeliner to brighten up my waterline and the taupe colour as an eyeshadow smudged over the lid, then blended out.
They last incredibly well, which is good as the claim is that they are waterproof, so you do get a full days wear out of them. I do have to reapply the nude liner to my water line but that's expected of all products I use there. I'm so tempted to try the bright blue colour to try and stop me from automatically picking the natural colours for my eye looks but I doubt I would ever use it!
Have you tried these?

Putting Vanish To The Test...

Saturday, 6 October 2012

Some of you may know that in the past few months I have really started to get back into my fitness again, generally trying to lose weight, tone up and get fit. Clearly this involves A LOT of sweating. Now I usually go to classes straight from work, or without bothering to take my makeup off. So when I am dabbing the sweat off my brow (I lie - it's not that glamorous at all) my trusty gym towel gets covered in makeup. My trusty gym towel actually is my Witch Skin Care flannel* which also happens to be white, bright white does take a bit of a battering.
For my challenge for the Vanish Oxi Action Fabric Satin Remover was to get rid of every bit of makeup from the towel. For the purposes of this challenge I got all the makeup I tend to wear on a daily basis and smooshed, splodged and smeared it all on my gym towel.

I rather attractively smooshed in some foundation, bronzer, eyeliner, mascara, blusher and even a lip stain! Then let them dry, well I wasn't going to make it easy for Vanish!

Following the instructions on the pack, I filled a bowl with 4 litres of faily warm water and put in one scoop of the powder, which has the cutest little scoop inside (small things please me!). I then left the towel in the water for the six hours suggested.

The soaking pretty much got every single stain broken down, I then popped the towel in with the rest of the whites (and added a scoop in with that to brighten everything) and BAM I now have a pearly white gym towel again!! Plus all the other whites are looking brighten which has saved me forking out on some new work tops.

I've used many vanish products, mainly to clean carpet stains because my rabbit sometimes likes to think the carpet is his toilet.!!! And who knows, maybe i'll work out so much in the gym there will be blood stains on the towel.. no lie I have bled from the weights before.
Have you used Vanish before?

Wednesday Wishlist... Labret Studs

Wednesday, 3 October 2012

Two years ago I decided to bite the bullet and get something done that I had wanted done for years. That was to get my ears pierced more. I used to just have one stud in each ear lobe which was done sneakily when I was 9 years old! My Aunty snuck me into town and took me to Claire's Accessories. Haven't we all been there? Sat in the window with everyone watches and two ladies stand next to you with guns?!?!
Well this time I entered the world of Blue Banana - boy what an experience!! I could not feel more out of place if I tried! However, all the staff were so so lovely! I originally wanted to just have two more piercings in one ear, but I was told that it would cost me the same amount to have my doubles done on both ears and a third on one! So I just bit the bullet and had three piercings in one day! Not remembering that I would have to sleep on my back for the following week.
The seconds were done with a gun like my first and I can wear normal studs in them, but the third was done with a HUGE ASS needle and I have to wear Labret Studs, which has opened a whole new world for me!
I usually just wear a simple coloured stud, which is more suitable for work. But recently I have been itching to get something different. I really like the little geko, I think that would be so different to have perched on my ear. The feather is just something that I am going to have to purchase at some point, I love feathers and am considering a tattoo, that's another post entirely.
Do you have any piercings that require different types of studs?
If you could point me in the direction of some sites that I can buy them cheaply i'd appreciate it too!

MUA Going for Gold Palette...

Monday, 1 October 2012

MUA Going for Gold Palette - £3 (at time of writing) - MUA Online / Superdrug

I don't know about you, but I was completely hooked to the television (and the BBC and Channel4 websites) when the Olympics and Paralympics were on and there is actually a part of me that misses them now. So as soon as I saw the MUA Going for Gold Palette the beauty crazed part of my brain went "NEED" and I snapped it up.
The eyeshadows in the MUA Going for Gold Palette themselves are brilliantly pigmented, especially with a primer underneath, as is the same with all the MUA eyeshadows. There is no complaints there. There is minimal fall out, so to speak, when you pick up product with the brush and they are really easy to blend.
As much as the product itself is fantastic, looking at the colours I feel a sense of buyer's guilt. There is only 2 colours in there that I would really use (the two bronze-ier ones) which makes most of the palette a waste for me and my tastes. The gold colours are too yellow/orange and I never ever wear silvers. Maybe this is the time to experiment again?

What do you think of the MUA Palettes?
