OOTD ... A Christmas Wedding...

Dress h&m // Dress Asos (Bargain!!) // Shoes New Look

Yesterday I attended a lovely wedding and I thought I would show you what I wore etc, blogger style. I know my outfit photos are not exactly the best but I get far too shy asking for photos to be taken aha.
Anyways the wedding was beautiful, all Christmassy and even our table favours were baubles. I have to admit even though I spell my name differently it looked far too pretty not to take a photo, funny thing is (if you are a friend of mine on facebook you will know this) I have a "fake" middle name on my profile, it's something a friend made up years ago. Well this name made it onto the table plan haha! Brilliant!
The dress I wore was a complete bargain from ASOS, only £10! It was very comfortable (gosh I'm getting old) but I felt happy in it and it was a nice length so I didn't feel like I was going to flash someone indecently. Teamed with my trusty blazer, black tights and staple shoe boots my outfit was complete. Makeup I kept it pretty much the same as my Christmas Day but with a nude lip rather than a red lip with a red dress! Nails I stuck to my Christmas Nails too.
Being at this wedding has made me so excited for Leanne's wedding and being bridesmaid - eek!! Time to get back into the gym etc so I will look nice in my BRIDESMAID DRESS!!!!

Review ... Hair Shine Sprays...

hair_shine_sprays_beauty_blog_haircare
Avon Advance Techniques Mirror Shine Spray
Neal & Wolf Super Shine Spray  *

Since I ombred my hair it has seemed to have lacked the shine that it used to have as a full head of brunette locks. No matter how many treatments I use there always seems to be a lack of "something" with my hair, it's hard to describe. My hair is in relatively good condition - even though the ends have been bleached within a inch of their lives, so a little spritz of a shine spray adds a lovely sheen to my hair making it look as healthy as it is.
The two that I float between are the Avon Advance Techniques Mirror Shine Spray and the Neal & Wolf Super Shine Spray *. After washing and drying my hair as usual I spritz a SMALL amount of either on the ends of my hair to add a healthy sheen. I emphasize small amount, if you put too much on you look like a greaseball and want to wash your hair again!
The Neal & Wolf is my favourite of the two as it smells nicer and is lighter in my hair than the Avon version. But both do a pretty good job!

Do you use a hair shine spray?

Christmas Nails...

Welcome to my Christmas Manicure. This year for some reason I have shunned the reds, greens and even the novelty nails (which I love) for a much more grown up affair.
These nails remind me of snowflakes and fairy lights especially when the light catches the top coat. Essie Ballet slippers is a pain to apply on it's own, I need to use about 5 coats so the top coat makes applying it more bareable!
Link me to your Christmas Manicures!!

This has been on my nails now (without chips) for 10 days and counting...

Nails ... Nails Inc Baker Street Dupe...

nails_inc_baker_street_highstreet_drugstore_dupe_beauty_blog_swatch

There is something about a bright blue nail that I love and when I saw the Nail Inc Baker Street I almost ran out and bought it, but then I saw this little number in Superdrug and realised that it is the exact same colour but for only £1.99!!!
Applies beautifully and is opaque in one coat, lasts a fairly good time too. The perfect dupe!

Review ... Joules skincare...

How cute is this set from Joules, I love the packaging so much! For a start the basic colours and patterns on the bottles brighten up my bathroom no end. I know that sounds silly, but they really do. It's not often where a company succeeds in creating packing that is this pretty. I also love the travel bag that they come in, a good size with multiple compartments means that this was the perfect travel bag to take with me when visiting Leanne last weekend.
The scrub is my favourite product out of the three. I am a bit of a floozy when it comes to body scrubs as I am forever in the search for something that will give me smooth arms. This isn't the most harsh of scrubs which would suit a lot of people, but you can get a real good scrub on with some faster hand movements. (oh ha ha). There is no real scent that I can pick up on either, which suits me perfectly. I cannot stand over smelly products which end up just giving me a headache.
The body lotion is lovely, really nice and thick but sinks into the skin fast. The combination of the scrub and the body lotion have really left my arms a lot softer, this could be that I haven't got bored of using these products (I have done with others) but anyway - they work!
The body wash is nice, a thick consistency that doesn't just run away from your hands whilst in the shower. It hasn't felt drying when I've used it like others have previously! I have also been using this as a "DIY" shaving foam and it works perfectly
Joules have a whole range of products that I did not know about, actually I saw a Joules shop in Newbury when visiting Leanne (good timing!!) and it looked amazing. They have some lovely bath sets, and some even in egg box style packaging. These are all on 3for2 so perfect for Christmas! Their clothing is lovely too, there are so many things in their New In section that I have my eye on.

Has anything taken your fancy?

Review ... NEOM Luxury Candle...

In recent months it appears I have developed a taste for candles, I love the warm glow that candle light gives  of an evening and there is just something pretty about a little dancing flame. Then scented candles became a past time of mine and I have a little collection of Yankee Candles, the sampler size ones, and as yet (after owning some for over a year) I have not had to light them because the scent is so "there" without having the candle burn. Of course this saves money too because candles are pricey! Plus they tend to burn (baby burn) at a rather speedy rate.
NEOM is a brand that is doing the rounds at the moment so I was curious to see whether the price tag was worth it on these bad boys being as everyone is so quick to spend their pennies on other brands. With a 20 hour burn time this isn't a candle to be sniffed at (haha I crack myself up) that is ages for a small travel candle, I don't even think larger candles from other brands last that long. Packaged in a sturdy white box which oozes luxury this candle comes with a box that you can use as storage, I'd happily keep the box for my dressing table, the same goes for the candle itself.
I was a bit dubious as to whether I would actually like this candle, you see I hate lavander. Hate it with a passion. Yet, when I burn this candle the lavander is mixed with the most beautiful scents of jasmine and brazilian rosewood the overall effect is truely relaxing.
NEOM say that this candle is perfect for me time, duvet days and to relieve daily stress. The first time I used this candle was when I filmed my first YouTube video in a couple of months which was pretty stressful, you see filming sends me into a flap usually but this time I remained calm - you be the judge! I would have loved to have had this candle around when I was studying for exams and writing essays through uni.
NEOM have a wide range of scented candles for all sorts of occasions and moods. Even one there to relieve hayfever symptoms.

Do you like candles? Any particular favourite scents?

Review ... Revlon Colourstay Foundation...

Revlon_colourstay_foundation_review_beauty_blog
Revlon_colourstay_foundation_review_beauty_blog

I always prefer a fuller coverage foundation and nothing has floated my boat as much as the ever expensive Estee Lauder Double Wear and Double Wear Max, I think like the majority of the world a cheaper alternative is always desired as long as it does the same job. Revlon Colourstay foundation has been one that I have uhmmed and ahhed about over the past few months, there has been some rave reviews and some real crapola ones so as I had used up a couple of my foundations in my mahoosive collection (and it helped that it was buy one get one half price) I bought Buff and Sand Beige. In the photo I am wearing Buff because this matches me and my casper like skin at the moment.
First off, the packaging to put it bluntly, it should change. The bottle is lovely but this really does need a pump. Already I can tell that there is going to be loads of waste left when I finish the bottle and the extra foundation I will put on my face because loads pours out when you try and get a tiny amount from the bottle.
The foundation itself goes on nicely, takes a little buffing but my Real Techniques Buffing Brush makes light work of it, I find that as soon as I put the foundation on it looks a little cakey but after a few minutes this settles and its fine! The coverage is not as much as double wear, but it is enough for me to feel covered. I'd happily use this on a day to day basis and save double wear for special occasions.

What do you think of Revlon Colourstay?
Do you have any heavier coverage foundation recommendations?

Review ... La Roche-Posay Pigment Control Serum...

La_Roche_Posay_Pigment_Control_Serum_review_beauty_blog
La Roche-Posay Pigment Control Serum - £29 *

The past few months I have been noticing the pigmentation on my face becoming increasingly darker and I have to admit, as vain as it sounds, I hate it. I have become increasingly self conscious about it using more and more concealer to cover it up. The pigmentation lies in the most awkward places too. Under my eyes making my already horrendous dark circles worse and on my upper lip which lets be honest just makes one look like I am participating in Movember.
I have been using the La Roche-Posay Pigment Control Serum for the past few months and there has definitely been a difference in how dark the patches are, they haven't gone completely but it is a marked improvement which I can only hope will continue with continued use (I also want to try Liquid Gold - talk to me? worth it?). I use the serum about 3 times a week after cleansing in the evening and have been using an spf daily since I started the serum. Which in hindsight is a must because sunlight is going to darken any pigmentation that is already there.

Do you use a pigment control serum?
Any recommendations for me?

So 17 have recently bought out another Mirror Shine range with a swanky new packaging desgin. I recently picked up "Shouty" on a 3 for 2 offer and I am pleased to say they perform just as well as the others for me. Massive sigh of relief that the formula hadn't changed.
I like to use these as daytime lipsticks, especially on days where my lips need a bit more moisture and when I can't decide what colour I want to wear as they don't hang around for too long.
Shouty is a really nice pink that you can build up quite well to leave a fairly opaque colour, or wear it very sheer. Although it doesn't last very long like I said, the one downside is that it tends to stain any dry patches on my lips...not ideal. But just means I probably need to take care of them better!

Do you like the 17 Mirror Shines?
I love the little mirror inside - that was a nice surprise!
