Bluestone

I have far too many photos that I want to share from my week in Bluestone, this post could be over 200 photos long, but before you click out of the post - here are my favourites.
If you want to see photos of the lodge that we stayed in then check out this post.

Horseriding at Nolton Stables

Back in November I won Employee of the Month and my treat was 2 hours horse riding on the beach in West Wales. I managed to tie the ride in with my trip to Bluestone and chose Nolton Stables as the place to go.

We headed straight there on the Monday, taking just over 2 hours to get there from Cardiff, baring in mind I drove pretty slow. Down winding lanes into the farm I could not stop smiling. I haven't been on a horse in about 10 years but it's something that I have always loved. This probably isn't a shock to you as a fair few blog posts have been dedicated to animals.

I was paired up with Skybear a beautiful grey horse, who looked very similar to my guinea pig Rocky in colour. He was so calm and really made me relax because as much as I wanted to hop on him and gallop into the distance - it takes a while to get back into the rhythm.

I've now caught the bug again and want to ride regularly so if anyone has any stable recommendations in the South Wales area that would be much appreciated.

Cardiff Dogs Home go to the beach...

Walking dogs has never been a chore for me, I would willingly walk dogs all day everyday because I just enjoy it that much. I've never owned a dog myself (yet!) but I'd much rather trek around with a pooch than by myself any day!

A couple of weekends ago we took three of the long term dogs out for a full day at the beach. All three of them loved it and it was great to get them out and about trying to raise awareness that they need a home.

You've probably noticed from my youtube channel that there has been no beauty videos since back in January and that's because of the dogs. My weekends are spent walking and filming videos for them to try and show people that they are just normal dogs outside their kennels. Something which I am still trying to find a balance between my blog and the dogs.

Read more about these dogs here.

Bluestone: The Lodge

This was the welcome sight that greeted me after a long drive from Cardiff to Bluestone (Which I did - and I drove on the motorway for the first time!!!!!!) and I couldn't stop grinning. Staying in this lodge for a week really was going to be awesome. Our lodge was up in Knight's Rest which is right up and out of the way from everything else, but still just a 5 minute walk to the main village. Checking in was really easy, it's a drive through format and only took about 5 minutes. You can drive to your lodge and unpack then park your car in the car park so the whole of Bluestone is a car free place - bliss!

The kitchen was much more equipped than I thought it was going to be. We had all the usual appliances, cutlery and even a few dishwasher tablets - oh yes there is a dishwasher!! You need to take all food down with you and I would recommend taking a mug as the mugs were on the small size and I don't tend to function without a bucket of coffee.

The rooms were incredible, modern and very comfy. We had plenty of towels, pillows and wardrobe space. The en-suite shower was a personal favourite and to be honest it's better than most hotels I've stayed in. I may also have had a mid day nap every day because the beds were that amazing.

Massive tv - check! Large sofas - Check! Plenty of space for entertaining - Check!
Our lodge had four bedrooms and one was on the ground floor with a huge bathroom just next door. This was such a lovely touch I thought as it made the whole property really accessible for anyone who couldn't take the stairs. Plus that bath is so deep that you could basically swim lengths in it.

This was the view over the whole of Bluestone from our picnic bench, a few people unpacking their cars but this was the busiest it ever got. I'm going to be posting over the next week about all our difference days we had and ending it on a vlog!

M Nail Magic Review

I think it's every girls dream to have gorgeous nails, long, strong and painted to perfection. Surely it can't just be me? For years I have been relying on gel, shellac, bio sculpt and acrylic to get my nails of perfection. These methods are fantastic but for me I realised that they were just masking the problem and I needed to use a treatment on my own nails to strengthen them.

As you can see from the first photo my nails were in a terrible condition, splitting and breaking like no tomorrow. I hated them. For weeks I had tried to sort this out by keeping them really short and filling them down, but the moment I tried to grow them again they snapped.

I also had an injury to my hand which left me with half a nail on my middle finger so this treatment* arriving in the post couldn't have come at a better time. There are a couple of ways you can use the M Nail Magic; as a base and top coat or on it's own by using two thin layers.
You are to apply the product twice a week for 8 weeks and then use once a week as maintenance from then on.

I have been using a combination of both, but now my nails look like the second photo all I want to do is paint a french manicure. Even my middle finger nail has grown back perfectly! I was so certain it would be deformed. My nails have remained long even though I work with dogs all weekend - that's something not even shellac managed.

Got damaged nails? Give this a try!
